Candidate FAQs

Everything you need to know about taking tests and applying for jobs on RankGrad.

How does the AI-proctoring work?

Our proctoring system uses client-side machine learning to detect faces and voices in your webcam and microphone feed during technical screening tests. We do not record or save any video or audio. The system simply logs data flags (like "multiple faces detected" or "no face detected"). It also monitors if you switch browser tabs, requires you to maximize the test window, and applies a blurring effect to the screen if you click out of the test area to ensure integrity. This processing happens entirely in your browser.

Can I retake a screening test if I do poorly?

No, you only have one attempt to complete a screening test. Once a test is submitted and evaluated, you cannot retake it for that specific job application unless the hiring company explicitly requests a retest for you.

How is my HEC internship compliance tracked?

If you are enrolled in a partner university, you must join your university's tracking batch via the "My University" tab on your dashboard. When you apply for and secure an internship through RankGrad, the hiring company updates your status to "Hired". Your university's administrators can then see this verified placement in their automated compliance reports.

Who can see my profile and resume?

Your data is private by default. Companies can only see your profile, resume, and test scores after you actively apply to one of their specific job postings. Universities can only see your placement status for compliance tracking, but they never have access to your private resumes or specific test answers.

What is Candidate Pro?

Candidate Pro is an optional paid tier that provides priority application highlighting and unlimited practice tests. You can view the full details on our pricing plan. Because our payments are currently verified manually, upgrades typically take 24-48 hours to activate after you upload your payment receipt.
